Learn CPR Online
Robin Nobles
Few of us know CPR, and even fewer would find the time to take a
class.
However, every one of us should know CPR. To be placed in a
situation where it's crucial that we know CPR, yet we don't,
would be a devastating experience.
Learn CPR is a free public service sponsored by the University of
Washington's School of Medicine. It offers illustrated guides for
performing CPR on adults, children, and infants, and it even
contains a printable pocket guide you can put in your wallet.
Believe it or not, it even contains CPR instructions for your
pets.
The site also offers a video demonstration of CPR, a CPR quiz,
and FAQ's and general information that we should all take the
time to read through and study.
You'll also find first aid information on what to do when an
adult, a child, or an infant is choking but is still conscious.
The site is quick to point out that it is to be used as a free
guide and an informational resource, but it can't replace real
CPR or first aid training, and it encourages you to sign up for a
CPR course.
However, in the meantime, it certainly provides some extremely
valuable information. http://depts.washington.edu/learncpr/
